Pleasure to Meet YOU

I know today is busy. And even if it’s not, thank you for spending your time by getting to know me. I’m glad you’re here.

My goal in life is to create art, cultivate a deeper understanding of myself,  and witnessing universal magic through the stories, art and eyes of people who are kind enough to share those things with me.

I am Marina. Poet. Creative dreamer. Mental Health Advocate. Ontological Coach. Adventurer.

In the last 14 years, of a search for myself that I am still on, I have been a publicist for a legendary hip hop group, creative marketer for multiple Caribbean Tourism campaigns, and event planner to both Broadway’s elite and the world’s leading scientists. I have assisted top level executives and Medical doctors, I have even traveled alone to Anguilla for work and didn’t pack a single bathing suit.

You’re probably staring at the screen thinking “Dang! She’s worn some hats!”

And my answer may surprise you even more, because that list is only a summary.

Up until very recently, my career defined who I am. My lack of commitment was an embarrassment to my own self. “You are all over the damn place,” I told myself. “You’re a Jack of all trades, master of none,” I doubled down. And trust me, I have been told by everyone, including by some of the very people reading this very thing, that I need to pick a lane and stick to it. And I have taken that validation, or opinion, and adopted it as my own.

The issue with this strategy in living out my future however, is that these opinions of others are based on their life experiences, not mine. “Who I want to be when I grow up”, has nothing to do with my career. At all.

After I took a plunge into a very scary unknown and got extremely uncomfortable for three years, I discovered that the discomfort is magic in disguise.

Magic in my context is described as the universe always having my back. And working in mysterious and often scary ways to give me what i need.

Our job in that. Is to be gracious to receive it, to be in it, during the difficult parts, truly BE in it, because the “being in it” is where the magic is most evident.

To digress for one a moment. For a person like me, the unknown was and still continues to be one of the biggest fears I will ever have. “What if” figured out how to make me stop dead in my tracks many times.

“What if” is the wolf disguised as grandma right before Little Red Riding hood arrived. It is like a recipe for the perfect post dinner nosh. A dash of trepidation, a splash of anxiety, a dusting of limiting beliefs fed by media consumption and lack of knowledge and opinions of way too many. This is the true enemy we face daily. Trusting “what if” more. It is the fear to be in the discomfort that usually kills dreams and derails hope. Not the discomfort itself.

I am using this website, as a vehicle to bring you closer to seeing the magic currently conspiring to change your life if it needs changing.

Consider for a moment, that where you are right now on your journey is exactly perfect and where you are meant to be right now. Every action and inaction is a choice. There is no right or wrong. There is just choice. Making choices creates magic. Magic creates the blissful particles of life that you constantly feel like you’re waiting for.

So follow along. Share when you can. And you can BE, limitlessly anything at all. Simply add a gratitude, blind trust, and above else...kindness.
